The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. is by far one of the funnies animes ever made. It has everything: an interesting setting, awesome characters, amazing puns and jokes, and surprisingly good music.
Even better, the whole anime is available on Netflix!
What’s that? You can’t find it?
Well, we hate to be the bearers of bad news, but that means this Netflix title isn’t available in your country. Netflix uses geo-blocks to make sure of that.
Why?
Because they don’t have licensing rights for your region. Without them, they can’t legally stream this anime on your country’s Netflix library. If they do that, they’ll likely get sued – either by the copyright holders or the competitors who own the licensing rights for this anime in your country.
Don’t let that get you down, though. In this five-minute article, we’ll tell you how you can easily start watching this anime right now.
How to Find Out Where The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. Is Available on Netflix
Netflix doesn’t have a complete list of where all its titles are available. It’d probably be too much of a hassle to manage that.
Luckily, there are online tools that keep track of titles’ availability. The best one seems to be StreamCatcher. It’s a very easy-to-use service with a user-friendly design. When you search for The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. on it, StreamCatcher will look up the worldwide Netflix library to see which locations you can watch it from.
As you can see, the anime is available in quite a lot of places. There’s also a chance there are other countries missing from the list. StreamCatcher will probably add them in future updates. Right now, the regions you see are the ones the team behind StreamCatcher (ProPrivacy) tested to make sure they’re 100% accurate.
In case you know other countries that belong on that list, please mention them in the comment section at the bottom of this article.
How to Unblock The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. on Netflix
Just use a VPN – it’s the most efficient and user-friendly unblocking tool (at least based on our experience). It hides your IP, so Netflix won’t know what country you’re from. Plus, it also encrypts your traffic, so bandwidth throttling won’t be an issue either.
To unblock the anime with a VPN, just do the following:
- Sign up for a good Netflix VPN. NordVPN, PrivateVPN, and ExpressVPN are all solid options.
- Download and install the provider’s app on your device.
- Run the VPN app, and connect to a server. Check the StreamCatcher screenshot we uploaded above to see which server locations you should use.
- Go to Netflix, log in, and look up the anime. You should be able to binge it without any problems now!
Where Is The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.: Reawakened Available?
This is sort of a bonus to the whole anime – it has six episodes, all of them based on manga content that wasn’t used in the original series.
Is it available in the same countries as The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.?
It’s likely available in even more locations. Unlike the first anime series, this one is a Netflix Original, meaning Netflix own the copyright and the licensing rights. So, they can pretty much stream this anime everywhere their service is available.
So, you wouldn’t need to use a VPN to watch The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.: Reawakened. Unless Netflix sold the licensing rights for your country to other TV networks or streaming sites, that is. In that case, they’d still need to geo-block their own show, so you’d still need to use a VPN.
We have no idea if they did that or not. If you know, please tell us in the comments. But this is an issue with some of their original programming (like Orange Is the New Black or Lilyhammer).
Getting Slow Netflix Speeds? Here’s What You Can Try
Netflix doesn’t require fast speeds to enjoy SD and HD quality. However, if you want to watch The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. in 4K, you’ll need at least 25 Mbps (ideally, over).
VPNs can slow down your speeds. If they’re already slow, you might have trouble enjoying this anime in Ultra HD quality. If that happens, here’s what you can do to increase your speeds:
Connect to a Server That’s (Relatively) Close
If you use a server that’s on a different continent or a few countries away, your VPN speeds will be slower. It takes more time for the app to exchange data with the server, after all.
The good news is that this anime is available in many countries. So you should have an easy time finding a VPN server location that’s close to you.
Don’t Use the OpenVPN Protocol
Pretty much all VPN providers use OpenVPN by default. We understand why since it’s an awesome VPN protocol. Unfortunately, it wasn’t made with streaming in mind. So, you can expect bigger slowdowns with it.
In our tests, we got the best experience with WireGuard. It’s very lightweight (so extremely fast). IKEv2 and L2TP/IPSec work really well too.
Connect Your Device Directly to the Router
WiFi has one major drawback – the further you get from the router, the weaker the WiFi signal. And the weaker it is, the slower your speeds will be.
The best workaround is to use an ethernet cable to connect your device directly to the router. That gets rid of the need for a WiFi signal. Alternative options include:
- Bringing the device very close to the router.
- Using a range extender to strengthen the WiFi signal.
